A native Tennessean, Rebekah Lanier (harp, piano) has been teaching music since she founded Willow Creek Music Studio in 2006. Rebekah began piano at the age of 4, started studying harp in high school, and continued her pursuit of music in college, studying under Jerome Reed (piano) and Phyllis Sparks (harp). After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory and Composition, Rebekah transitioned directly into her dream career: private teaching, freelance performing, and professional accompanying. As a teacher, Rebekah focuses on theory and technique, and enjoys motivating each student to develop a personal connection to the music. Her harp background is in the Grandjany method, and she emphasizes using natural hand and arm motions to achieve a warm, resonant sound.

While living in Tennessee, Rebekah was very involved in Nashville's thriving music community, and her students participated in many events hosted by local, statewide, and national organizations. She served on the boards of the Nashville Area Music Teachers Association and National Guild of Piano Teachers, and has held memberships with the Music Teachers National Association, Tennessee Music Teachers Association, American Harp Society, and the Nashville Harp Society.

Rebekah met Kenton Lanier in college, where they quickly became good friends and
colleagues. They were married in 2016, and currently live near Kansas City, where they enjoy pursuing their musical interests together.
